Rachel Leonidas is your not-so-typical girl next door, who grew up in a bustling household with eight siblings. Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Rachel is a proud Haitian-American. Her humble upbringing instilled the value of education, hard work, gratitude, and charity. Rachel earned a Bachelor and Master of Arts degree in Communication and Public Relations, respectively.

She established herself as a successful marketing and development professional within the educational landscape of Washington, DC. However, in 2016, when Hurricane Matthew re-devastated Haiti's already struggling island, it unearthed a buried commitment she made after the historic 2010 Haiti earthquake. No longer able to ignore the burning call to turn her skills, education, and experience towards improving Haitian people's lives, Rachel gave birth to the Moving Haiti Forward Movement. Her vision is to invest in the education and overall wellness of Haiti's future- it's children and youth.

To date, she has led seven successful medical & dental mobile clinics to the remote region of Les Cayes, Haiti. She will break ground on a clinic and youth development center in January 2021. Seeking a desire to expand her reach beyond Haiti, in 2019, Rachel spent a year in Southern Africa to learn, grow, and serve on the mother continent. The result was a personal and professional trajectory to raise awareness and secure resources in the race to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger around the world.

Rachel is also an educator who teaches interpersonal, intercultural, and public speaking courses to college students and trains professionals on the importance of global citizenry and everyday philanthropy.

In her free time, Rachel enjoys meeting new people, the theater, journaling, traveling, and making memories with her family and friends.
